З метою розробки проекту нової Стратегії Програми ЮНЕСКО «Людина і біосфера» на 2015-2025 рр. (Стратегія ЮНЕСКО МАБ) на 26-й сесії Міжнародної координаційної ради з Програми МАБ (МКР-МАБ) у червні 2014 р. було прийнято рішення щодо створення ЮНЕСКО-МАБ Стратегічної групи (Стратегічна група). До складу Стратегічної групи увійшли члени Бюро МКР-МАБ (представники національних комітетів МАБ Мексики, України, Гани, Казахстану та Єгипту), а також 6 експертів з країн-членів Організації.
13-14 листопада 2014 р. в м. Париж (Франція) відбулося перше засідання Стратегічної групи. На засіданні розглядалися питання: огляд узагальненого першого варіанту проекту Стратегії, підготовленого Секретаріатом МАБ на основі його обговорення на 26-й сесії МКР-МАБ; підготовка проекту Стратегії МАБ та відповідного Плану дій; аналіз проекту та Плану дій з точки зору очікуваних цілей та одержаних результатів; підготовка поновленої та остаточної версії проекту Стратегії та проекту Плану дій не пізніше як за місяць до 27-ї сесії МКР-МАБ; підготовка звіту для МКР-МАБ з урахуванням обговорень Стратегічної групи, положень останнього проекту Стратегії МАБ, а також відповідних пунктів Плану дій.

The joint Kick-off Meeting of the two EU funded ICT projects took place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 20-21 February 2014. Two Ukrainian teams those of the National Information Centre for Ukraine-EU S&T Cooperation at SE “Ukrtechinform” and NGO “Agency of European Innovations” are the partners of the projects titled, correspondingly, “Fostering Dialogue and Cooperation between the EU and EECA in the HORIZON 2020 perspective - EAST-HORIZON” and "Bringing the EU-EECA cooperation and policy dialogue in ICT in the HORIZON 2020 era – EECA-2-HORIZON".
The representatives of 14 countries attended the joint starting event of the two projects.
