     European research and innovation initiatives, ways of involving stakeholders in the program "Horizon 2020" with a special focus on small and medium enterprises in the Danube Region
    The second working meeting of the working direction 2.3 "Innovation Union and European Research Area in the Danube Region" project Danube-INCO.NET

    Project Danube-INCO.NET (www.danube-inco.net) operating since January 2014. It is funded by the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) and the EU aimed at supporting the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) in research and innovation (R & I). While EUSDR when considering the wide range of priorities, Danube-INCO.NET focuses mainly on two of them: "knowledge society" and "competitiveness of the region." To support a political dialogue, creating scientific networks, analyzing and supporting R & I activities.
    In Ukraine as a partner Danube-INCO.NET stands Institute for Market and Economic and Environmental Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. National Coordinator - NAS Ukraine, Doctor of Economics, Professor Boris Burkyns'kyi.
    Project Danube-INCO.NET continue until December 2016 and will focus efforts to events, publications and recommendations related to cooperation in research and innovation, was broader audience and were involved in the future macro-regional development of the Danube region.
     This working meeting realizing your area Project 2.3 "Innovation Union and European Research Area in the Danube Region" and is the second in a series of three workshops on the topic of participation in European research and innovation (R & I) programs of the three countries that are not EU members (Serbia, Ukraine and Moldova). Each seminar is dedicated to a specific list of innovative development that is most relevant for each country.
    The main theme of the second working meeting of the Project Danube-INCO-NET: participation of stakeholders in European R & I programs, including access to these programs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This area is a priority for dialogue between countries that are project partners Danube-INCO.NET. Topics include efforts to use Horizon-2020 and other EU programs to improve R & I capacity and cooperation in the Danube region, including its Ukrainian part.
    The results of the workshop will facilitate the development of recommendations for the development of research and innovation policy and will cover the following topics:
1. Assessment of the situation in Ukraine and countries associated with the EU to participate in European research programs (including the program «Horizon-2020");
2. Transfer the experience of the EU and non-EU countries that are associated to the program «Horizon-2020": make an impact on the strategic agenda of the program «Horizon-2020" (including participation in the activities of the Program Committee); creation and effective promotion of R & I programs and advisory support system (activity of national contact points); interaction between politicians, officials, decision makers and potential applicants (effective stakeholder participation in strategic R & I processes and priorities);
3. Specific measures to promote and support the participation of stakeholders in the Danube region in R & I programs, ways to attract SMEs to the innovation process (in the program «Horizon-2020"); economic and institutional instruments of technology transfer mechanisms in the structure of the program «Horizon-2020";
4. Review the priorities for increased cooperation between the EU and countries outside the EU, the program «Horizon-2020" (which are highly competitive research, with a high industrial potential implementation based on unification or research programs).
